AF50 Masthead

Bob Michaels

My photography began in earnest about eight years ago as an evolution of my long-term interest in local cultures.  Six years of study at Crealde School of Art comprises my formal artistic education.  I was selected as student of the year.

I made the decision not to offer any of my work for sale long ago. I believe this eliminates any influence of public acceptance and frees me to work as I personally choose.

Individual exhibits:
- Center for the Study of Southern Culture - Gammill Gallery, University of Mississippi
- Crealde School of Art – Showalter Hughes Gallery
- Winter Park Hannibal Square Historical Center
- Caffé DaVinci, Tongue and Groove Gallery – Deland
- Apopka City Hall
- Apopka History Center
- Orange County Public Library

Group exhibits:
- Orlando City Hall
- Crealde School of Art – Documentary Photography as Community and Public Art exhibit, image chosen for promotional material
- Crealde School of Art – various juried student exhibits, won first place in photography

There have been three Orlando Sentinel articles with accompanying photographs about my documentary photography.
